Two young American men travel to Moscow to sell their social networking/party locating software. Whilst at a nightclub, they venture outside to see what is believed to be, an Aurora Borealis. However, the light separates and falls from the sky. They discover that the lights are aliens, using the power supply to hunt and kill humans. The American software designers Sean and Ben travel to Moscow to sell their software to investors. However, their Swedish partner Skyler pulls a fast one on Sean and Ben, and they are out of the business. They go to a nightclub, where they meet American Natalie and Australian Anne and they flirt with the girls and see Skyler in the club. Out of the blue, the population is surprised by lights, which they mistake for natural phenomena. But soon, they learn that the lights are aliens invading Earth and using power supply to annihilate mankind. Sean, Ben, Natalie, Anne and Skyler hide in the kitchen and when they leave the place, they seek out survivors on the street. Are they the last people on Earth? I don't understand the low rating for this movie. Maybe because there is no USA army in it to defend the whole planet, some of you may think it won't worth the time watching it. Yes, it is a good movie. A fresh air after all these U.S. Army promotion sci-fi movies. A simple story with simple characters, good special effects, acceptable performances from the actors. It does not bring something new, but that wasn't the intention of the movie makers, I'm pretty sure about that. It's a simple sci-fi, with aliens attacking our planet, a story we've all seen before. Fairly done, a great movie for a rainy afternoon. Oh, and the other thing is that it's not an American city where the action takes place, it's Moscow. Don't expect Los Angeles, New York and the Statue Of Liberty in flames. It can happen in some other places too. Just get over it and enjoy the movie. I went to see this film without any prior knowledge about it, so the lights coming from the sky being invisible energy aliens that made people to dust (very similar to the War of the worlds remake) really looked promising, but then everything went downhill. So lest see, you are being attacked by hostile invisible aliens that you don't know anything about, but even so you leave the relative safety of your hide to walk and RUN on big open streets and alleys like you had any idea that your next step was a safe one? Remember, they are INVISIBLE, what reason have you to think that RUNNING or walking for that matter on a street is safe at all? And above all even shout and speak loudly! Don't the aliens have a sound detection system? Then your next move is to go to your embassy, look for help? Really? In a alien invasion! If this was a human war i would understand but not with this. If this invasion was a true case then the best course of action would be to stay home or indoors, find a good hiding place, stuff it with supplies and wait. Not go like Rambo to the nearest police station or embassy. Hell, has a last resort then you can try to reach the army, you know the guys with the BIG gun's capable of having a fighting change. Then there's the guy that even thou was represented has a coward that add is safety above all the others, piked a gun knowing they were useless, refused to go to a better vantage point (because of fear) but even so went confident all alone down a street because he "saw something", the next thing was predictable, it would be the first of the group to die. There's more like the " miss the submarine 50 meters away to hide in a bus 300 meters away" jewel at the end, but just what i said at the start made me regret the 6 i payed for the ticket. Really, how slovenly is it to use invisible aliens? If you're going to tease us with nothing but pinwheels of light for three-quarters of the film, you'd better have one heck of a reveal up your sleeve.
The Darkest Hour' is a famous horror film. I am so scared to watch horror films. But horror films are the most interesting ones. So even if I am scared I will try to watch movies. Plant-based food But it will take my sleep for many days.
